Dealing with criticism, is that really tough?i would say “NO”.Dealing criticism with grace and dignity is something which we desire the most. As we all are well aware of the fact that Criticism holds a strong grip at each and every facet of our lives. No matter what the situation is or who the person is, every individual have to face it at one or other time in their journey of life.
As criticism is inevitable so is the other thing that criticism is not always in a negative way!!Yes, we need to keep that in mind it’s not always negative! There are different kinds of criticism, it can be positive, negative, constructive or a destructive one. It depends on us whether we consider it positive or negative and how we deal with them!
So here are some golden rules or tips to look upon for taking criticism in a position way:
1. Firstly you should understand that every person can not have the same opinion as you do and you cannot control anyone’s thoughts and perception. And so your thinking is meant to collide with others, but it doesn’t mean that they are completely wrong!! They might be right in their own aspect which is not acceptable by you and vice versa. So you should be open to hear someone else’s persona.
2. It should not be taken personally, no one is targeting you in particular just remember that!!
3. Take it in a positive way and try to improvise things.
4. Take the feedback and try to implement those things in your work. Give it a chance and don’t feel shy about changing anything .
5. Every critic is not honest and If you feel that unnecessary and illogical criticism is there the best way to overcome is to ignore it and just move on.
6. Try to be kind to those people who criticizes you for your benefit and you should respect their opinion and if possible try to explain them, that might change their opinion.
Lastly, just remember sometimes our critics are game changers of our life and teaches us a lot that improvises our work and other stuff which eventually brings out our best version!!
